Ну, как я понимаю — она работала через веб-браузер. Скорее всего через почтовую программу работала тоже. Кстати раньше была популярна почтовая программа The Bat…

Но вообще.. глобально.. именно приложение Outlook — новое. Но есть еще Microsoft Outlook, да, названия похожие, но на самом деле это разные проги. Microsoft Outlook — почтовая программа, обычная, была еще во времена Windows XP, она позволяет работать с любой почтой, которая поддерживает почтовый протоколы POP/IMAP. Вот как она выглядит, это уже 12 версия:

Честно говоря я даже не знаю поддерживается ли она сейчас в Windows 10..

В принципе все хорошо, мне вот только не нравится.. как бы немного перегруженность интерфейса. Да, много функций, рабочих областей так бы сказать.. Но большинству людей нужно просто проверить почту или отправить письмо, ответить.. Поэтому простота интерфейса и продуманная функциональность — как мне кажется важно..

В приложении можно менять цвет верхней полоски окна, но что интересно, что.. даже в веб-версии Outlook тоже можно менять цвет:

Step 1: Hotmail Sign In

Hotmail is now called “Live” into which you can login by typing https://live.com in address bar. But even if you type https://hotmail.com you can proceed to similar login page. You can also login into Hotmail account at https://outlook.com.

Step 2: Input Hotmail ID or Phone or Skype Handle

At login screen that appeared, type your Hotmail email address. Alternatively, you can enter your associated phone number or Skype handle. Press “Next”.
